At the time of S.Francesco d'Assisi (1200) on the path that from La Verna mountain leads to Gubbio, between Città di Castello and Pietralunga, a group of Fanciscan priests began the construction of this convent. A document dating back to 1268-69 testifies the existence of this settlement in which is mentioned ?un locus di frati minori prope castrum Pratalongae?. After many vicissitudes it became the ancient primary residency of Prince Boncompagni Ludovisi. In the year 2001 the two buildings were renovated completely and transformed into an agriturismo comprising 7 apartments (accomodations for 35 guests).
