At the time of S.Francesco d'Assisi (1200) on the path that from La Verna mountain leads to Gubbio, between Città di Castello and Pietralunga, a group of Fanciscan priests began the construction of this convent. A document dating back to 1268-69 testifies the existence of this settlement in which is mentioned "un locus di frati minori prope castrum Pratalongae". After many vicissitudes it became the ancient primary residency of Prince Boncompagni Ludovisi. In the year 2001 the two buildings were renovated completely and transformed into an agriturismo comprising 7 apartments (accomodations for 35 guests). The agricultural farm is not in use at present but the licences are still existing. Located in an exclusive and privileged spot especially for those who love the nature and open air sport activities. Part of the property comprises a natural lake with spring mineral water used as pool. It is easy to see from the property wild animals such as deer, wild boars, herons and squirrels thank to the strict rules for the environment preservation.
